Bicycle Day (Bottle Wash x Candy Cake) is the culmination of a nine-year breeding and selection project that celebrates the discovery of the ultimate consciousness-enhancing molecule, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD).
In 2015 we received a very special clone from Bodhi Seeds called Wookie. A hybrid of Lavender and Appalachia with resins that were something to behold, Wookie had one of the most unique terpene profiles we had ever encountered, with notes ranging from grapefruit rinds to sour lavender funk. Her effects were beautifully psychedelic and thought provoking.
Wookie’s beauty inspired us to take that magnificent terpene profile and create hybrids with improved yields and resin structure. We began by crossing her with OZ Kush (Z x OG Eddy Lepp) to give the Wookie some legs and breed in Z terps, opening up the flavor profile. The result was a powerhouse called Bottle Wash, named after the gonzo tactic of dropping a vial of liquid LSD into a drink and going all out.
With solventless hash’s recent surge in popularity, we needed one final step to improve Bottle Wash (Wookie x OZ Kush)’s resin structure to enhance its performance in rosin production. We smashed Bottle Wash with our stud male Candy Cake (Z Cake x Jungle Cake) and were rewarded with Bicycle Day—the ultimate way to experience Wookie’s magical flavor.

On this day 82 years ago Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann ingested LSD for the first time, years after he first synthesized the molecule in his lab. His bike ride home took him to the boundaries of human perception and opened the door to a new psychedelic age that blossomed in the 1960s and continues today with the successful decriminalization of some psychedelic substances in places like Colorado and clinical research revealing their potential to transform lives.
To honor Hofmann and his consciousness-expanding discovery, we commissioned strain artwork inspired by Hofmann’s fateful first trip and LSD’s power to unlock new planes of perception. When you put on our custom anaglyph glasses, the design’s multi-dimensional nature will be revealed.
